About Me

green
This is not a partisan blog. I've submitted my blog to various sites over time and have been more and more so associated with the Green Party of Canada, but that's not through any intent of mine. When I refer to green in my blog, it has personal meaning. The title, The Green Filter, only means that I have a generally "green" perspective, and this is how I see things. As to what specifically green means to me, it's not just about limited, traditional environmentalism. It's a more holistic idea about what's good for society. Fortunately, contrary to what's become the stereotype, being green does not mean being somehow anti-people or anti-humanity. It seems we've forgotten that we're part of the environment, and what's good for it is very often good for us too. It sustains us, and we've gotten to the point where this idea that it is in opposition to us or controllable by us may lead to the end of our civilization. Even though things seem somewhat bleak, I don't see much point in wallowing in "end of civilization 'literature'". I try to be practical in my posts, and if not, then I'll try to keep it short at least. *Most photos on the blog are stock ones from www.sxc.hu.
